Key RULES

SPRINT6GOLF is ideally a game played over 6 holes, but it is FLEXIBLE so make it work for you.

When playing SPRINT6GOLF follow the rules of golf as set out by the R&A with the following exceptions:

THE SHOT CLOCK

You must complete each shot in under 30-seconds. Preferably using the free SPRINT6GOLF App to time each shot.

The moment your opponent strikes their ball, if you are in a position to play your ball, you should start your SHOT CLOCK immediately. No delay!

YELLOW CARD FOR DELAYING

If you are deemed to have delayed moving directly to your ball or you 'hover' your bag to give yourself more time, your opponent(s) may issue you with a YELLOW CARD. Two YELLOW CARDS equals a RED CARD and a 1-shot penalty.

RED CARD IF YOU TAKE TOO LONG

If you take longer than the permitted 30-seconds to play a shot, you will receive a RED CARD which equals a 1-shot penalty.

TIME OUTS

Each player has two 2-minute TIME OUTs (per 6-holes) which they can choose to take at any point. This will allow you a little more time for difficult shots, or if you get into trouble and need take more care.

Most importantly – Have FUN!

Making it work for you

We want SPRINT6GOLF to be simple and fun, to suit how you like to play golf. Don't get hung up on the rules, adapt them to work for you.

Here are some recommendations:

  • It doesn't have to be 6 holes - choose the number of holes that work on the course you are playing and the time you have available.

  • Match play is fun and simple, but use whatever form of golf you prefer (e.g. strokeplay, stableford, etc).

  • Keep the pace up - if you lose a ball allow just 2 minutes to look for it (use the TIME OUT timer on the SPRINT6GOLF App). If you don't find it drop one on the fairway and a take a 2-shot penalty.
